Jeff Chaz is one
of the worlds greatest living blues musicians of our time (see info below). Jeff suffered terrible losses both financially
and physically during hurricane Katrina. He has yet to recover and needs whatever
assistance you can offer. He needs
financial support to continue even procuring the basics of food, shelter, and subsistence right now. Our great country is awful at supporting artists like Jeff who literally know no other life besides music.
In some parts of Europe Jeff would be able to pursue his art with a reasonable
government subsidy. Any help is greatly appreciated!

An incredible tale of a man and his music
Somewhere on a dirt road way down in the deep south, after a thunderous collision at a 3 way
intersection between Albert King, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Cab Calloway, Jeff Chaz stepped from the melded metal and dust,
smoothed out his suit, straightened his black chateau, and proceeded to blow the doors off our preconceived notions about
what the blues are. No doubt, Jeff can caress traditional blues standards like
no one else. His song “Seafood Department Blues”
(off the album “Tired of Being Lonely”) should come with a warning label that reads: “Caution,
this song contains highly addictive substances and will cause you to listen over and over……...” It is the quintessential "blues riff" tune.
But the depth of his talent starts where most musicians’ know-how ends.
“Don’t Shave Your Legs Tonight” (also off “Tired of Being Lonely”) is
the beginning of his departure from the traditional; it is raw and unassuming – so much so that the critics who don’t
quite “get it” - didn’t – but its that unafraid approach to everything he does that
wins Jeff honors as a real innovator while occasionally making his contemporaries bristle.
Musical "outsider" predecessors like Frank Zappa would have empathized with Jeff’s plight. He explores every crevice inside a song, and the outer edges of every thought as each new masterpiece is
created.

Thanks to all the folks who helped Jeff launch his latest album!

Each great blues musician
has a special quality that sets him or her apart from the others as a true master.
By that standard, Jeff Chaz is one of the greatest living blues musicians today; he is on every level a master. Genius
is a word that gets tossed about like old socks sometimes, but in this case the word is accurately descriptive of Jeff as
a person – forget the musical talents. He is somewhat eccentric, disheveled (in an Einstein sort of way) and flamboyant
but deeply spiritual, gracious, and kind. His amazing intellect is evident in his lyrics, derived of a life filled with experiences
that rival any Deep South blues icon’s painful past. He exudes brilliance as a melody writer, poignant instinct as a
guitarist, and is a beautiful singer with tremendous range and a style of delivery that bends one’s heartstrings. He
is prolific in his ability to write, record, produce, and promote his music. His performances are nothing short of electrically
stunning. He has written and produced 3 original albums and has many more projects that are fertile and awaiting naissance
under the right circumstances. His fan base (stretching across the world) more than adore him; they worship him as the emperor
of his musical domain. Anyone that doubts his talent need simply to listen to a few songs like; “A Chill In
The Air” (off "Tired of Being Lonely"); “Instrument of Pleasure” (off "Cookin
In Old Grease"); or “Dreams Don't Lie” (from the new album "Jeff Chaz in Exile")
to fully understand the depth of his abilities.
I want to thank everyone who participated in helping jeff launch his
newest album "Jeff Chaz in Exile." It is the crown jewel among his musical accomplishments. You can contact Jeff directly by phone at (504) 453-2931.

Not only has Jeff done
great musical work to this point (and he is nothing short of manic in his work ethic) but he has yet to do his greatest work,
as the progression in the quality of his successive albums will attest. He is a gold mine artistically and financially for
the person wise enough to grasp his awesome potential and promote it. He needs serious representation and for that there will
be a significant reward. Although Jeff's newest album is out, it still needs some energy behind getting it heard, played, sold, etc.
Please utilize your resources to assist Jeff in getting this music to his adoring public, and those who have yet be be blown
away by his amazing performances!
Thanks
in advance for your assistance, your consideration, and your support.
Below are some entries
from Jeff’s website guestbook that illustrate his fans’ passion. He has also received critical acclaim from the
gatekeepers of blues criticism.
Chip Eagle, owner
and editor of Blues Revue magazine (the most widely circulated publication in the industry) considers Jeff among
today’s most talented blues musicians. Other critics appear to strongly agree. Below are some of their comments as well.
BRIEF BIOGRAPHICAL
NOTES:
Jeff Chaz has traveled
and played the Blues for many years! Originally from Creole, Louisiana, his travels finally brought him to the Home of the
Blues, Memphis, Tennessee, where the favorite music of his formative years began. While in Memphis, Jeff won the first
Beale Street Blues Society award, and played many festivals in the area.
Jeff moved back to New
Orleans in 1997. "The Louisiana dirt was calling me back,” he states. He
had the wherewithal to coin and successfully trademark the apropos moniker “Bourbon Street Bluesman ™.”
Jeff's unique style of
Blues incorporates the taste of Memphis combined with the mixture of New Orleans rhythms. "It is Memphis barbecue
meeting up with New Orleans gumbo," quips Chaz.
FAN MAIL:
(these are only a few of the many, many entries in Jeff’s Guestbook)
“My boyfriend &
I enjoyed your music so much that we didn't want you to stop playing…I went to hear jazz, blues, etc. and boy did I
get more than I even expected.”
“Hi Jeff, Thanks
for making our trip one to remember!! Your CD is great!!”
“Once in a blue moon
does a performer knock your socks off. I feel privileged to have heard him”
CRITICAL REVIEW:
(again, just a few samples)
Excerpt from review
of “Cooking In Old Grease” - by Peter Lauro (The Blewzzman) - April 2004
I have to admit that doing
a review on the new JEFF CHAZ CD, "COOKIN' IN OLD GREASE", was nearly impossible for me. I mean how can I sit here and review
a CD that I can't get past the second track of? Every time song two, "INSTRUMENT OF PLEASURE", ended I kept reaching for the
remote and hitting replay. This is one hell of a blues song. I think topping the phenomenal, fiery guitar work and the feelings
filled vocals on this cut will not be an easy task. This not being on the W. C. Handy Award Nominations list as "BEST BLUES
SONG OF THE YEAR" was a big oversight by the nominators.
Excerpt from review
of “Tired Of Being Lonely” - Kathleen A. Rippey (offBEAT Magazine)
He burns on the Albert
King-ish “Everybody Knows” and admits, “Working with Albert greatly influenced my style, especially
my string bending. He was the wildest at that I’ve seen and terrific vocalist.” About Jerry Lee Lewis, he says,
“Jerry Lee taught me not to be afraid to do anything!” That attitude shines throughout on this CD. Chaz’s
ability to find the humor and pathos in his day-to-day dealings and build his experience into sturdy works of blues through
strong storytelling and playing takes this CD several notches above the norm.
